BASE jumpers
Parachuting thrill seekers
BASE jumpers are people who parachute from fixed objects rather than aircraft.
BASE is an acronym for the four categories of launch points: building, antenna, span (bridge), and earth (cliff).
The sport is far more dangerous than skydiving—lower altitudes leave less time to deploy a chute or correct problems.
BASE jumpers leaped from the skyscraper at dawn before security arrived.
