American artist
U.S.-based painter perhaps
An American artist is a person from the United States who creates art—typically visual art like painting, sculpture, or photography, though the phrase can extend to musicians, writers, and performers.
The term often appears in museum labels, auction catalogs, and biographical descriptions: American artist Georgia O'Keeffe is known for her desert flower paintings.
