101 Dalmatians

101 Dalmatians is a 1956 children's novel by Dodie Smith about dalmatian dogs whose puppies are kidnapped by the villainous Cruella de Vil, who wants their spotted fur for a coat.

The story became widely known through Disney's 1961 animated film adaptation.

The title is often referenced for any large group of spotted dogs or, humorously, any chaotic abundance: It's like 101 Dalmatians in here with all these puppies.
