yellow sign
Hazard notice color
The yellow sign is a mysterious symbol from Robert W.
Chambers's 1895 horror story collection *The King in Yellow*.
In the fiction, merely seeing the sign drives people to madness or marks them for supernatural doom.
The concept has influenced later horror writers, particularly H.P.
Lovecraft, and appears in games and media inspired by cosmic horror.
The sign's actual appearance is never described, adding to its mystique.
