women's club
Female members' association
A women's club is an organization formed by women for social, educational, civic, or charitable purposes.
These clubs emerged prominently in the late 19th century when women were excluded from many male institutions, creating their own spaces for intellectual discussion, community service, and political advocacy.
Today they range from local garden clubs to national federations: She joined the women's club to meet people after moving to town.
