witness signatures
Third-party verification marks
Witness signatures are signatures from people who observe the signing of a document, confirming that the primary signer actually signed it.
Many legal documents—wills, deeds, powers of attorney—require one or more witnesses to make the signature valid.
The witness attests to having seen the act of signing, not necessarily to the document's contents: The notary collected two witness signatures before stamping the form.
