white ink
Colorless writing fluid
White ink is ink that deposits an opaque white pigment rather than a transparent dye.
Standard inks assume a white surface beneath them; white ink allows printing on dark or colored materials—fabric, kraft paper, clear plastic.
In screen printing and digital printing on apparel, white ink often serves as an underbase layer so other colors appear true: The design needs a white ink layer first or it'll look muddy on the black shirt.
