ureteral obstruction
Kidney drain blocked
Ureteral obstruction is a blockage in one or both ureters—the tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder.
Causes include kidney stones, tumors, scarring, or external compression.
The condition can lead to hydronephrosis (swelling of the kidney) and, if untreated, permanent kidney damage: The CT scan revealed a ureteral obstruction caused by a large stone.
