unsworn
Without an oath
Unsworn describes testimony or statements not given under oath.
An unsworn witness hasn't pledged to tell the truth under penalty of perjury.
In legal contexts, unsworn declarations may carry less weight than sworn ones: The affidavit was rejected because it was unsworn.
Outside courtrooms, unsworn suggests informal or nonbinding status.
