unordained
Without holy orders
Unordained describes someone who has not been formally ordained as a member of the clergy.
An unordained minister or preacher lacks official religious credentials but may still lead worship or perform spiritual functions in some traditions.
The term also applies more broadly to anything not formally sanctioned or decreed: an unordained path through life.
