undeceiving

Setting someone straight

Undeceiving is the act of freeing someone from a false belief or mistaken impression.

To undeceive is to correct an error, usually gently: I hated to undeceive her about his intentions.

The word implies the person being corrected was innocent in their misunderstanding rather than willfully ignorant.
