unclaimed prizes
Forgotten lottery jackpots
Unclaimed prizes are awards, winnings, or giveaway items that no one has come forward to collect.
Lotteries, sweepstakes, and contests regularly have unclaimed prizes when winners lose their tickets, forget they entered, or fail to respond in time: Millions in unclaimed prizes revert to the state each year.
The phrase often appears in promotional contexts suggesting easy winnings still available.
