uncharted territories
Unexplored unknown lands
Uncharted territories are areas not yet mapped or explored—regions beyond the edges of known geography.
The phrase now appears almost entirely in figurative use, describing any unfamiliar domain where established guidance doesn't exist: The new regulations put us in uncharted territory.
The singular form is more common: uncharted territory.
