ultraviolet lights

Invisible spectrum lamps

Ultraviolet lights are lamps that emit ultraviolet radiation—light beyond the violet end of the visible spectrum.

They're used to sterilize surfaces, cure adhesives, detect counterfeit currency, and create blacklight effects that make certain materials fluoresce: The club had ultraviolet lights that made everyone's white shirts glow.

Also called UV lights or blacklights.
