Uber with a lowercase u is an informal prefix or adjective meaning extreme or supreme, borrowed from German.
It intensifies whatever it modifies: uber-cool, uber-wealthy, an uber nerd.
The term gained currency in American slang during the 1990s and 2000s, often carrying ironic or hyperbolic overtones: She's the uber-mom of the neighborhood. (Capitalized Uber is the rideshare company.)
