turf-roofed
Lawn above your head
Turf-roofed describes a building with a roof covered in growing grass or sod, a traditional construction method in Scandinavia, Iceland, and other regions where turf provided insulation against harsh climates: turf-roofed cottages dotted the hillside.
The style persists in some areas and has seen revival in modern sustainable architecture.
