treasure troves

Rich hidden collections

Treasure troves are collections of valuable things discovered or accumulated.

Originally a legal term for found hoards of gold or silver whose owner is unknown, the phrase now applies broadly to any rich collection: The attic was a treasure trove of old photographs.

A single such collection is a treasure trove; the plural describes multiple discoveries or accumulations.
