trade block
Regional commerce zone
A trade block is a group of countries that have agreed to reduce or eliminate trade barriers among themselves, often through treaties establishing preferential tariffs or free movement of goods.
Examples include the European Union, NAFTA, and ASEAN.
Also spelled trade bloc, which is more common.
The proposed trade block would create the world's largest free-trade zone.
