title theme
Show's signature tune
A title theme is the musical piece that plays during a film, television show, or video game's opening credits or title sequence.
It establishes mood and becomes associated with the work itself: The title theme from *Jaws* is instantly recognizable.
Distinguished from incidental music or end credits themes, the title theme functions as a signature—audiences hear those first notes and know exactly what they're about to watch.
