tire boot
Internal tire patch
A tire boot is a patch placed inside a damaged tire to reinforce a weak spot or cover a gash that a standard patch can't fix.
The boot provides a temporary or emergency repair, allowing continued use of a tire with sidewall damage or a large puncture: I put a boot in that tire to get me home, but it needs replacing.
Also called a tire boot patch.
