timed event
Clock-bound competition segment
A timed event is a competition or activity where performance is measured by how long it takes to complete, or that must be finished within a set time limit.
In rodeo, timed events like calf roping and barrel racing contrast with judged events like bull riding.
In video games, timed events require completing objectives before a countdown expires: I hate timed events—they stress me out.
