time bonus
Quickness earns extra
A time bonus is extra time added to a player's clock, typically awarded for completing a move or achieving certain objectives.
In chess and other timed games, increment systems grant a time bonus after each move to prevent time pressure from overwhelming the endgame: With a five-second time bonus per move, she could play more carefully.
Time bonuses also appear in video games and competitions as rewards for speed or skill.
