those people

Them over there

A phrase that singles out a group the speaker views as distinctly different from their own.

The distance can be neutral—Those people over there are waiting for the bus—but often carries dismissive or prejudicial undertones, marking the group as lesser, problematic, or not deserving full consideration: I don't want those people in my neighborhood.

Context and tone determine whether the phrase is merely pointing or quietly othering.
