thermal wear
Winter base layers
Thermal wear is clothing designed to retain body heat, typically worn as a base layer in cold weather.
The fabric traps warm air close to the skin: I always pack thermal wear for winter camping.
Long underwear, insulated leggings, and heat-retaining undershirts fall into this category.
Also called thermals.
