texturising

Creating tactile variation

Texturising is treating hair or fabric to add body, volume, or surface variation.

Hairdressers texturise by cutting at angles or using razors to remove bulk and create movement: She asked the stylist to texturise her thick hair.

In textiles, synthetic fibres are texturised to give them the feel and appearance of natural materials.
