temple marriage
Holy covenant ceremony
Temple marriage is a religious ceremony performed in a Latter-day Saint (Mormon) temple, believed to seal a couple not just for life but for eternity.
Unlike regular church weddings, temple marriages require both partners to hold a temple recommend, meaning non-members and some family members may be excluded from attending.
The practice is central to LDS theology about eternal families: They were sealed in a temple marriage last spring.
