Striped patterns are designs consisting of parallel bands of contrasting color, width, or texture.
The term is somewhat redundant—stripes are inherently a pattern—but appears in contexts distinguishing them from other designs: The fabric comes in striped patterns, florals, and solids.
Stripes may run horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
