strip down

Take it off

To strip down is to remove clothing or outer layers, often completely: He stripped down to his underwear before jumping in the lake.

It also means to disassemble something to its basic components: The mechanic stripped down the engine to find the problem.

Both senses share the idea of removing what covers or conceals to reach what's underneath.
