street magic
Pavement card tricks
Street magic is magic performed in public spaces for passersby rather than in theaters or private venues.
The term gained prominence in the 1990s with televised performances featuring close-up illusions done directly for strangers on sidewalks and street corners.
The style emphasizes raw reactions and intimate proximity over elaborate stage production: He got his start doing street magic in Times Square.
