straight men
Setup joke deliverers
Straight men are heterosexual males—men sexually attracted to women.
The phrase often appears in discussions of gender dynamics, dating, or social commentary: Straight men don't understand how much effort women put into getting ready.
In comedy, the straight man is the serious partner in a duo who sets up jokes for the funny one—a different sense unrelated to sexuality.
