stipulating
Laying down terms
Stipulating is stating something as a condition or requirement, especially in a formal agreement or contract: The lease stipulating no pets was a dealbreaker.
It can also mean accepting something as true for the sake of argument: Stipulating that your facts are correct, I still disagree with your conclusion.
