stick drift
Unwanted joystick movement
Stick drift is the tendency of a video game controller's analog stick to register movement when untouched, causing characters or cursors to wander on their own.
The problem results from wear on internal components and worsens over time: My controller has bad stick drift—my character keeps walking left.
Also called joystick drift or analog drift.
