stay command
Canine obedience instruction
A stay command is an instruction given to a dog (or other trained animal) to remain in place until released.
The dog must hold its current position—sitting, lying down, or standing—without moving: We practiced the stay command until she could hold it for two minutes.
One of the foundational obedience commands alongside sit, come, and heel.
- sitRest on a seat
- heelFoot's rear underside
- obeyFollow commands given
