sports grounds

Where games happen

Sports grounds are outdoor areas designed for athletic activities—fields, courts, pitches, and tracks where games and competitions take place.

The term is more common in British English than American: The school's sports grounds include a rugby pitch and running track.

A single such facility may be called a sports ground.
