souvenir coins
Pressed penny alternatives
Souvenir coins are commemorative tokens sold or distributed at tourist attractions, events, or landmarks.
Unlike legal tender, they serve as keepsakes rather than currency: We got souvenir coins pressed at the zoo.
Many are made by machines that flatten pennies and imprint designs.
Collectors may acquire them from national parks, museums, or historic sites.
