solo players
Single-participant competitors
Solo players are people who play games alone rather than in groups or teams.
The term appears most often in video game contexts, where it distinguishes those who prefer single-player experiences or tackle multiplayer content without assistance: The raid is designed for groups, but solo players have found ways to beat it.
Solo players may choose this style for independence, scheduling flexibility, or simply preferring to go it alone.
