sodding off

Taking one's leave

Sodding off is the act of leaving or going away, from the British imperative sod off—a rude dismissal equivalent to "go away" or "get lost." Someone who is sodding off is departing, often after being told to: He's finally sodding off back to London.

The continuous form softens the vulgarity slightly while maintaining its dismissive edge.
