Group entertainment event
A social game is a game designed around interaction with other players rather than solitary play.
The term typically refers to casual games played through social media platforms or mobile apps, where inviting friends, sharing achievements, and cooperative or competitive elements drive engagement: She kept sending me social game requests on Facebook.
The category expanded dramatically in the early 2010s with titles like FarmVille and Candy Crush.
