snap fastener
Click-shut clothing closure
A snap fastener is a two-part metal or plastic closure that joins fabric by pressing together—one piece has a protruding knob, the other a socket that grips it.
Found on clothing, bags, and upholstery where buttons or zippers would be inconvenient: The snap fasteners on the baby's onesie make diaper changes easier.
Also called a press stud or popper (British) or simply a snap.
