slip collar
Self-correcting dog restraint
A slip collar is a dog collar designed to tighten when pulled and loosen when slack.
Unlike a fixed collar, it cinches around the neck when the dog strains against the leash, providing correction or control.
Also called a choke collar or choke chain when made of metal links.
Training styles vary on whether slip collars are humane or effective.
