slant rhyme
Almost matching sounds
Slant rhyme is rhyme where sounds are similar but not identical: love/move, eyes/light, soul/all.
The vowels or consonants match imperfectly, creating a subtler echo than true rhyme.
Poets use slant rhyme to avoid the predictability of perfect rhymes while maintaining sonic cohesion.
Also called near rhyme, half rhyme, or off rhyme.
