singles tennis
Solo court competition
Singles tennis is a format of tennis played between two individual opponents, one on each side of the net, as opposed to doubles tennis, which features teams of two.
The singles court uses narrower boundaries than doubles.
Most major tournaments feature both singles and doubles competitions, with singles typically receiving greater attention: She won the women's singles title at Wimbledon.
