single party
One-group political control
Single party describes a political system where only one party holds power, with no meaningful opposition permitted: a single-party state, single-party rule.
Such systems range from authoritarian regimes to communist governments.
Separately, single party can simply mean one party among others, or a social gathering for unmarried people.
