shuttle train
Back-and-forth rail service
A shuttle train is a train that runs back and forth between two points, typically on a short route with frequent service.
Unlike through trains that continue to other destinations, shuttle trains simply reverse direction at each terminus: The shuttle train connects the airport to downtown every fifteen minutes.
