Shoddiest is the superlative of shoddy—the most poorly made, cheapest, or most inferior: That's the shoddiest excuse I've ever heard.
Shoddy originally described fabric made from recycled wool, which was inferior to new material.
The word now applies to any work, product, or behavior that falls far below acceptable standards.
