shipping bay
Freight receiving area
A shipping bay is a designated area in a warehouse, factory, or retail facility where goods are loaded onto or unloaded from trucks and other vehicles.
The space typically features a raised platform or dock that aligns with truck bed height, allowing forklifts and workers to move freight efficiently: Three trucks were waiting at the shipping bay.
Large facilities may have dozens of numbered bays to handle simultaneous deliveries and dispatches.
