sherbets
Fruity frozen desserts
Sherbets is the plural of sherbet, a frozen dessert made with fruit juice or flavoring, sugar, and a small amount of milk or cream—lighter than ice cream but creamier than sorbet.
In British English, sherbet also refers to a fizzy powdered candy that dissolves on the tongue.
We ordered three different sherbets for the table.
The word is sometimes mispronounced and misspelled as "sherbert."
