severe obesity
Extreme excess weight
Severe obesity is a medical classification for extreme excess body weight, typically defined as a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or higher, or 35 or higher with serious health complications.
The condition significantly increases risk for diabetes, heart disease, and joint problems.
Also called morbid obesity, though that term has fallen out of favor for its judgmental connotations.
