service organization
Community help club
A service organization is a group formed to perform charitable or community work rather than to generate profit for members.
Rotary clubs, Lions clubs, and similar civic groups are service organizations—they raise funds for scholarships, sponsor community events, and volunteer for local causes.
The term also applies to nonprofits that provide services to specific populations: a service organization for veterans, a service organization supporting the homeless.
