secondary screening
Extra security check
Secondary screening is the additional inspection some travelers undergo after initial security checks, typically at airports or border crossings.
It may involve more thorough searches of luggage, pat-downs, questioning, or document verification.
Selection can be random, triggered by watch lists, or based on anomalies detected during primary screening: I got flagged for secondary screening and nearly missed my flight.
